the seeds were planted during his early adult years in the east bay punk rock scene: mohawks, liberty spikes, bleach and a plethora of bright hair colors were daniel’s first glimpses into the joys of hair. he didn’t know what he was doing or that one day he’d be making a career out of it, but it was creative, a little rebellious, and most importantly – it always grew back.
licensed since 2004, daniel trained extensively under mentorship of renowned british hairstylist dallas amos, specializing in vidal sassoon and bumble & bumble cutting techniques (scissor & razor) as well as wella, redken, and renbow hair coloring. he quickly became known for putting a gritty spin on classical techniques – creating looks that styled easily and grew out well and was soon named “best of the east bay” (2011) by diablo magazine.
daniel has been a freelance hair stylist since 2010, having worked in lafayette, california (infinity salon, & caroline’s salon) for 12 years, before moving his business over to fringe & fern collective in walnut creek where he is constantly pushing the quality and the artistry of his craft.
